It may be colder and the days may be shorter, but there is so much to experience this winter in NYC!
Even though the weather is colder, there’s so much to explore and do during the winter in NYC. We've put together a short “bucket list” of our can’t-miss activities for you...
No matter if you’re in town when its famed tree is still standing, or find yourself visiting when the New Year has already begun, there’s much to do in and around this NYC institution. Of course, you can take a twirl on its famed ice rink. Or, head to the Top of the Rock and get an awe-inspiring view of the entire skyline. But be sure to also check out some of the unique shopping locations such as the recently reopened FAO Schwarz, the American Girl Place, or the Lego Store.
See a New York Ballet Performance at Lincoln Center
George Balanchine's The Nutcracker may be the be-all and end-all “list-worthy” entry, but this famed company always makes every trip to Lincoln Center worthwhile. Of note – Tchaikovsky will be returning when “The Sleeping Beauty” hits the stage in February.
Madison Square Garden may also be the home of the Knicks, but this year, the New York Rangers are making a run for Lord Stanley’s Cup. If you don’t want to partake in skating yourself, cheer on some of the NHL’s best while they do!
Tour the New York Botanical Garden
It may seem like a “warmer weather” destination, but the Botanical Garden enchants visitors all-year-round. The centerpiece of their winter events, the annual Holiday Train Show, showcases all of the famed NYC landmarks, constructed completely out of natural material from their garden.
